Touring the Aeolian Islands - Panarea

Wednesday, 11 October 2017
We spent one night in Panarea.  This island is the one where all the rich people to go in summer.  Low season, a lot of the restaurants and businesses were already closed for the winter, but it was still really warm (almost hot).  Not many tourists and virtually the place to ourselves.

Stromboli in the distance, to be climbed the next day.  Hmmm...

We didn’t have much to do for the day so we decided to go for a walk. Next thing I know, Trevor has conned me into climbing the mountain. Do I look like a goat? Do I look like the kind of person who likes to hike? It was quite hot in the sun and by the time we neared the top there were a number of expletives being hurled down the mountain. On the bright side it was a beautiful view as the path climbed along the edge of the cliff.

We were staying at a really lovely little hotel where they had a heated swimming pool. Yay!  Then we realised the sunset was looking really nice, so we raced down to the pier for some shots.
