Abu Dhabi - No Country for Old Wine Connoisseurs

Friday, 27 October 2017
We stopped for a couple of days on the way home in Abu Dhabi and the famous Emirates Palace hotel. After much running around and sight seeing in Rome and Sicily, we really needed a couple of days to unwind and relax. No need to go out of the hotel really, they had two huge pools, lots of restaurants and their very own beach.

While everything was great, it did lack one thing – good alcohol. You could buy alcohol but it was cheap crap and it was sold at hugely inflated prices. After drinking some of Italy’s finest wines for a month it was a bit of a let down.
We even went sailing – Trevor actually knows how to drive a sailboat.

And on the beach, their very own camels which we got to ride on before having tea in the traditional hut.
